Our 4K program is from 8-11, Monday through Thursday. We work on a variety of skills together, specifically geared towards preparing our students for kindergarten. Our class circle times are interactive and focus on skills such as letter and sound recognition, writing our names, writing the upper and lowercase alphabet, writing and identifying numbers 1-20, counting to 100, and learning the color words and basic shapes. We also have tabletop class times during which we work on projects to strengthen our fine motor, art, and writing skills. Recess and free play is an important part of our program and is scheduled everyday to help our students develop their large motor, emotional, and social skills. The teacher uses the Class Dojo free app to send daily updates and portfolio photos as the primary form of communication for the activities we do together during the 4K program.
